🔥 Learning of the week:
How to conduct user testing effectively? ✨
Our mentor Michael Szeto, has shared 6 effective tips to conduct your user testing.
1. Set clear goals.
Reduce the risk of missing important cues.
Plan a clear script on the details you want to find out from your audience.
Let your observers know what you are trying to validate.
2. Research participants beforehand
Get the right audience.
Run a small survey or get the internal team feedback to gather information.
Give a sense of confidence talking to the right group of people.
3. Hide hotspots in the prototype
Prototype hotspots can ruin your user testing session.
To turn off hotspots in Figma in prototype mode, click ‘show hotspot hints on click’ to hide them from your participant.
This helps to prevent biased feedback from participants
4. Ask for more details if needed
Get more clarity to understand audience needs or pain points.
Understand the feedback from users.
Prevent further confusion and wrong assumption.
5. Re-watch your interviews
Analyze your results.
Give time to summarize what needs to be fixed.
Create alignment with other team members or stakeholders.
6. Get feedback from mentors
Reach out to others for help.
Exchange ideas.
Improve user testing skills.
