I think Julie does a great job of expressing the problem with approaching design (and people) with a rigid mindset. Designers have a rich toolbox of research methods - but we should not treat these as a playbook or a prescription, or else we risk missing out on the bigger picture. The bigger picture helps us understand that methods and data points exist on different dimensions that do not reflect truth on an individual level but rather play in on a collective narrative.
